Rearward vs Forward Facing Guide

Choosing the right direction at the right age

A baby’s body doesn’t develop evenly. The head is heavy, the neck is delicate, and protection needs change with age.

Rearward Facing (Recommended for early months)

  • Age: Birth to 15 months (or longer if possible)
  • Group: Group 0 / 0+ / early Group 1
  • Why it matters:
In a collision, rearward-facing seats spread impact forces across the baby’s back instead of the neck and spine, offering far greater protection.

👉 This is the safest position for infants and young toddlers.

Forward Facing (For growing toddlers)

  • Age: 15 months onwards (as per child’s height & weight)
  • Group: Group 1 / Group 2 / Group 3
  • Why it works:
Once the neck and spine strengthen, forward-facing seats with reinforced cushioning and harness systems provide excellent protection for longer journeys.

Babykins seats are designed to adapt with your child, so safety evolves as your baby grows.
